An Overview
The complete course of study at Faith Landmarks Bible Institute consists of a two-year program. The first year lays the foundation with a concentration on the basics of Christian doctrine. In addition, an overview of the Old and New Testament and other related subjects are offered. The second year guides the student into a deeper study of the Word and practical aspects of the ministry.
A certificate is awarded after successfully completing the entire first year program. A diploma will be awarded when an additional fifteen (15) courses from the second year program have been completed. A certificate can be obtained with one year of full-time study, a diploma with two years of full-time study. Both the certificate and diploma also require the following two (2) qualifications: 1) The student demonstrates a Christian character which the school can recommend. 2) The student has settled all financial liabilities to the school.

The desire to serve God and fulfill His commission is the main requirement for entrance to Faith Landmarks Bible Institute. While we do not feel that a high school or college diploma is necessary, the course of study will require sincere commitment from the student, as well as reading and writing skills.

An application form must be completed which requires your testimony of desire to enter Faith Landmarks Bible Institute. All application forms must be returned to us prior to registration.

^

At least two full weeks will be set aside at the beginning of each trimester for registration. Students failing to register during the allotted time will be charged a late fee of $15.00.

^

We define full-time and part-time students as follows:

> A full-time student is one who is taking either four (4) or five (5) courses per trimester.
> A part-time student is one who is taking one (1), two (2), or three (3) courses per trimester.
> Each student is encouraged to work at his/her own pace.

^

> Registration fee: $25 (non-refundable, once per year)
> Tuition for Full-Time Students: $50 per course
> Tuition for Part-Time Students: $70 per course

FLBI encourages total payment of tuition upon enrolling each trimester. However, we understand that some students are not able to afford such a one lump sum payment. Our budget payment plan requires the registration fee and 1/2 of the tuition upon registration. The balance of the tuition is due in two successive monthly payments for that trimester. Admittance to class may be denied if payment is not made on time. Refunds on tuition will only be made on a pro rata basis for class time not attended up through the fourth week of class.
Books for each course will be made available through our bookstore. The cost will vary dependent upon the course.

^

Auditing of classes is allowed, however, all registration and tuition fees are applicable and must be paid as if courses were being taken for credit. We reserve the right to limit audits based upon space availability.

^

Students should dress modestly and presentably at all times. Informal or casual attire is acceptable as long as it is neat, clean, and in keeping with the character of a Christian preparing for the ministry. Shorts, short skirts or dresses, tank tops, and low-cut blouses are not allowed.

^

All students are required to maintain a minimum of 2.0 grade point average in order to qualify for a certificate or a diploma. If a student maintains a 2.0 grade point average, a grade of D will be acceptable for successful completion of a course. A grade of F is not acceptable for the completion of the course for graduation. The grading system is as follows:

Grade Percent Designation Grade Point
A 93 - 100 Excellent 4
B 85 - 92 Good 3
C 77 - 84 Average 2
D 70 - 76 Poor 1
F 0 - 69 Unacceptable 0
I   Incomplete *
W   Withdrawl 0

When grade sheets are completed, an announcement will be made in class, or they will be mailed to the student.

In order to drop a class, the Registrar must be notified. It is not sufficient to notify the instructor only. Forms for dropping a class are available and must be filled out and submitted to the Registrar prior to withdrawing from the class. Refunds on tuition will only be made on a pro rata basis for class time not attended up through the fourth week of classes.
When adding a class, the student must follow the same procedures as above. However, the completed form must be approved by the Registrar prior to the student’s attendance of that class.

^

In order to obtain the most desirable atmosphere for receiving instruction, we ask all students to observe the following guidelines:

> No food or drink is allowed in class.
> Neither guests nor children are allowed in class.
> Students should not “chat” with other students during class.
> For questions, please raise your hand and wait for acknowledgement from the instructor.
> Turn off all cell phones and pagers.

Requests for extension of exams or special assignments
It is the responsibility of the student to complete all exams and special assignments within the time specified by the instructor. If, because of circumstances beyond the student’s control, exams or special assignments cannot be completed by the required completion date, such date may be extended upon approval of the instructor. However, any request for an extension must be made by the student, in writing, prior to the class in which an exam or special assignment is due. No consideration will be given after the date that the exam or special assignment is due. This could result in failure of such class.

^

Each course will consist of eleven (11) class sessions, including a final exam. We expect students to attend all classes, however, two(2) absences may be allowed in order to still receive a passing grade. Three (3) absences for any particular course—including the final exam—may disqualify you to receive graduation credit for that course. Attendance records will be kept by each instructor.

^

It is our desire that each class begin on time. To that end, a student is considered tardy once his/her name has been called for the roll. Two (2) tardies will be considered an absence.
